John Kander not slowing down after hitting 85

NEW YORK (AP) ? When the Dramatists Guild Fund honors composer John Kander at a star-studded gala next month, there is very likely to be one person reluctant to be there. That would be John Kander.

"It scares me to death," says the Tony Award-winning songwriter with partner Fred Ebb of "Cabaret," ''Chicago" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman." ''I guess I'm not the world's most spotlight-oriented person."

The Dramatists Guild Fund is the public charity arm of the Dramatists Guild of America, which aids and nurtures writers for the theater. The fund is celebrating its 50th anniversary and chose Kander to honor since he is also celebrating his half-century of creating art.

The June 3 gala at the Mandarin Oriental New York hotel is slated to feature performances and tributes from Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Bebe Neuwirth, Stockard Channing, Joel Grey, Christie Brinkley, Rob Marshall, Susan Stroman, Debra Monk, Karen Ziemba and Joshua Henry.

Fellow writers Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz and Terrance McNally also are expected to attend, and Jon Cryer, the star of "Two and a Half Men," will serve as host. Tickets start at $500.

"It is going to be a wonderful, big lovefest," says Gretchen Cryer, president of the Dramatists Guild Fund. "Everybody wanted to do it. He's very beloved. Everybody loves John."

Minnelli would be at the top of that list. She teamed with Kander and Ebb multiple times, including a taped version of her live show "Liza With a 'Z'" in 1972. It won eight Emmy Awards and the soundtrack went gold.

"They invented me," says the actress, who also earned an Academy Award for playing Sally Bowles in "Cabaret" on screen and a Tony for the Kander and Ebb musical "The Act." ''With 'Liza With a "Z,'" they gave me a real identity. The way they write, there's nobody like them. Nobody."

Kander, who just turned 85, hasn't stopped working following Ebb's death in 2004 ? not by a long shot. He and Ebb's last musical "The Scottsboro Boys" received 12 Tony Award nominations in 2011 and Kander has for the past few years been collaborating with 34-year-old lyricist Greg Pierce.

Their haunting musical "The Landing," currently being developed off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre with David Hyde Pierce, features three distinct stories performed by an ensemble of four.

"I guess that has been a rejuvenating process because it's the first person that I've worked with on a real basis since Fred," says Kander. "It's a whole new experience. I'm enjoying it a lot."

For Cryer, Kander's staying power is inspiring. She notes that he received the Kennedy Center Honors award for Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. "Look what he's done since then," she says. "Isn't it amazing that he's going strong? He's a mid-career artist at age 85."

Kander says he never worried if his creative juices would still be flowing strong after Ebb's death. "Life goes on and changes happen," he says. "I don't think I ever had a kind of fear of what was going to happen to me creatively in the future. I just know that I'm having a really, really good time right now."

Minnelli, too, is going strong with concerts planned and has just had a recording of her 1974 concert "Live at the Winter Garden" released for the first time on CD, packed with Kander and Ebb jewels. "I'd forgotten how many terrific things they wrote," she says. "Even now, a lot of what I say on stage is due to Kander and Ebb. And what I feel is due to Kander."

Kander says he doesn't know any details of the Dramatists Guild gala ? and wants to keep it that way. He suspects old friends will be present but gets uncomfortable thinking about it.

"The safest place for me in the world is a rehearsal room full of people who are really talented and who care about making some kind of art. The rest of it I'm not really comfortable with," he says.

"That all sounds very ungracious. I'm very touched to be honored by the Dramatists Guild, which is an organization that means a great deal to me. But I kind of wish it was about somebody else."

He may try to hide under the table.

"He can't," says Minnelli with a huge laugh. "I'm sitting next to him."

Sony NEX-F3 review

Sony NEX-F3 review

Just shy of a year ago, we reviewed the Sony NEX-C3, a mirrorless camera that quickly became our benchmark when it came to entry-level interchangeable lens cameras (ILCs). We praised its excellent image quality, generally consistent performance, overall solid design and, best of all, its $600 price tag -- including an 18-55mm kit lens. Since then, the landscape has shifted drastically for this particular type of compact shooter, with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 raising the bar for focusing performance, Nikon's cute J1 winning the hearts of many (likely due to a heavy marketing budget and adorable design) and the Fujifilm X-Pro1 pushing the envelope when it comes to price and body size. For its part, Sony also attracted plenty of attention with its flagship NEX-7, which appears to have been the inspiration for the company's brand new NEX-F3.

Based on its price tag and release schedule, you might have assumed that the NEX-F3 is here to dethrone Sony's NEX-C3. That may or may not be the case (we're hoping for the latter) -- the F3 is much more a scaled-down version of the NEX-7 than an update to the C3. Sure, designs can change drastically from one year to the next, but we were quite fond of last year's model, and many of you were, too. From a specification perspective, the F3 has a new APS-C sensor (though resolution remains unchanged), with a higher top ISO setting of 16,000, a 3-inch LCD that can flip 180-degrees to face completely forward, a new NEX-7-esque pop-up flash and a bulkier design. But does bigger mean better in this case? Click past the break for our take.

Largest car museum in North America opening June 2 [Video]

n/a

Americans have a love affair with the automobile and LeMay will open the largest museum in North America to celebrate that ongoing affair. The museum is located in Tacoma, Washington on a sprawling nine-acre campus with a four-story museum housing one of the world?s largest auto collections. The LaMay museum opens June, 2nd 2012.

When the museum officially opens, it is estimated that $60 million worth of classic vehicles will be on display. Harold and Nancy LeMay have amassed the largest privately owned collection of automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, other vehicles and related memorabilia in the world. The purpose and vision of the new museum is to celebrate our love affair with the automobile.

The museum covers?165,000-sq. ft. on a 3.5-acre showroom floor, and is starting off with a collection of over 200 cars. It is located 30 minutes south of Seattle, and has been under construction since the summer of 2010.

Uniting automobile enthusiasts worldwide

The LaMay museum will be a gathering place where automotive enthusiasts?from around the world will be able to enjoy automobile history and celebrate the world?s automotive culture under one gigantic roof.?The huge facility will eventually be able to house up to 350 cars, trucks and motorcycles from private owners, corporations and the LeMay collection, which amassed a Guinness Book record of more than 3,500 vehicles in the mid-?90s.

?Everybody remembers their first car, family driving vacations, a sports car they fell in love with as a teenager,? says ACM CEO David Madeira. ?Personal experiences with cars are at the heart of the American experience, and we?re going to showcase more than a century of automotive lifestyle and history as well as the future of transportation.?

The ACM vision

America?s Car Museum (ACM) has a vision to become the gathering place where automotive enthusiasts from around the globe can celebrate America?s love affair with the automobile. They also want the museum to be a place where auto enthusiasts, serious collectors and educational entities can create social networks. The LaMay museum will be more than just a look at past automotive achievements. It will also portray present achievements and future directions in the transportation industry, including design, technology and products. The new facility will also be home to an education center/library to promote automotive history, restoration and preservation.

?ACM is conceived on the premise that there is an important, unique automotive story to tell about the past, present and future of cars, trucks and motorcycles.? As a result, ACM will attract young and old alike, will inspire everybody who enters, and will help educate the drivers of the future.?

The exterior design is unique

The exterior design of the New LaMay museum is distinctly automotive looking, and conjures up images of a hood scoop or a fender from a vintage automobile. When the automotive campus is finally complete, the overall construction cost of the project will be approximately $60 million. The museum is expected to be a tourist destination and projected to bring in 500,000 visitors annually.

The new LaMay museum that opens on June 2, should be on every automobile enthusiasts bucket list, a must see before you ?kick the bucket.?

Memorial Day: Among post-9/11 veterans, deepening antiwar sentiment

This Memorial Day the Iraq war is over and the Afghanistan war is winding down, but they're weighing heavily on post-9/11 veterans, 33 percent of whom said they weren't worth the cost.

By Gloria Goodale,?Staff writer / May 26, 2012

U.S. war veterans raise their hands in solidarity after throwing their medals towards the site of the NATO Summit in Chicago May 20, 2012. Nearly 50 veterans threw service medals into the street near the summit site in protest.

Despite the end of the Iraq war and the scheduled drawdown in Afghanistan, this Memorial Day arrives against a backdrop of deepening ? and some say more troublesome ? antiwar sentiment among military veterans.

One of the most vivid and replayed images of protesters at the NATO summit last weekend in Chicago was a?group of some 40?vets lined up to toss their war medals over the chain link fence to protest what former?naval officer Leah Bolger calls ?the illegal wars?of both NATO and America.?

According to a recent Pew Research Center study, 33 percent of post-9/11 veterans say that neither the war in Iraq nor in Afghanistan ?were worth the cost,? and this among a highly motivated cohort who chose to serve.

What this means, says retired US Army Col. Ann Wright, who?resigned from a State Department post in 2006 over US policies in Iraq,?is that?there is a?widening gap between the government, military policies, and the soldiers that carry them out.

?Military personnel know America will always have a military, but there is?growing concern?over the way it is being used,? says the 29-year veteran, adding that an increasing list of concerns include ?the use of?torture, illegal detentions, and both soldiers and the public being lied to about the actual reasons for going into combat.?

But in contrast to the extremely vocal and visible antiwar movements of the Vietnam?War era, many veterans in the all-volunteer military have found it harder to?mobilize effective actions, says Cameron?White, a former Marine who served two tours in Iraq before joining ?Iraq Veterans Against the War.?

The 32-year-old Pasadena?City college student, who enlisted in 2000, says??it?s harder to speak to fellow soldiers about their decision to join, as the onus is on us because we chose this.?

Many of the post-9/11 veterans who have served in what is now American?s longest-running military action, find that pressures that can fuel antiwar sentiment have ratcheted up with the all-volunteer army.

According to the Pew study, only some one half of one percent of Americans have served in the military in the past decade, the lowest rate in history. Even as an?unprecedented number of Americans ? some 80?percent ? are therefore sheltered from the war?s hardships because none of their relatives?are serving,?the pressures of military service?have increased.

In order to meet troop level requirements, many soldiers have been deployed as?many as six times ? a level unheard of prior to the all-volunteer military, points out Mike Hanie, an Air Force veteran and founder and executive director of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.

This growing antiwar sentiment within the veteran community, he says,?is?easily traced to the fact that ?the men and women who have served are returning home to communities where they feel that their service doesn?t matter.?

The veterans? ?families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues do not understand, or seem to care about our all-volunteer military and the sacrifices they have made defending our freedom,? he adds.

Veterans returning?to normal life are facing struggles that include uncertainty about possible redeployments, cutbacks in benefits, and an economy in recession. This has led to many troublesome results, including a suicide rate among post 9/11 veterans of some 18 veterans per day, says Dr. Harry Croft, a former Army doctor and a psychiatrist who has evaluated more than 7,000 veterans for combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and is author of the book ?I Always Sit With My Back to The Wall.?

?It?s not clear anymore what the end result is of these wars,? he says, adding?that in Iraq, for example, US troops are gone, but many vets wonder what happens now.

?We got rid of Saddam Hussein and put a democratic government in place, but the enemy still hasn?t gone away,? he notes. In addition, he says, many vets feel?that we were told before the war in Iraq that oil money was going to pay for the war, ?which of course didn?t happen.?

Afghanistan is even murkier, says Dr. Croft. ?Our troops are over there risking their lives and the Afghan people and government don?t even like us,? he says, adding ?our troops are facing suicide bombers and IEDs knowing that today might be their last day, but for what??

Official: Moments before plane crash caught on video

Security video captured a small plane taking off from a southern Utah airport just before it crashed about 300 yards from the runway, killing all four men aboard, a federal investigator said Sunday.

Zoe Keliher of the National Transportation Safety Board said the video shows the single-engine Cessna 172 flying at a low level early Saturday morning at St. George Municipal Airport.

"The airplane continued down the runway and made a rapid ascent," Keli?her told the Salt Lake Tribune.?"Shortly after that, you see a descent of a few flickers of light but not the plane."

She added that it's too early to say whether the airport's camera video will offer clues into the cause of the crash.

Marc Mortensen, assistant to the St. George city manager, said officials believe the four men aboard the plane were killed upon impact. The wreckage wasn't discovered until more than four hours later because the airport is not staffed at night, he added.

The victims were identified Sunday as Colby Hafen, 28, and Christopher Chapman, 20, both of Santa Clara; Tanner Holt, 23, of Washington City; and Alexander Metzger, 22, of St. George.

Keliher and Mortensen said they were unsure where the plane was headed at the time. Keliher said only one of the four men had a pilot's license, but neither she nor Mortensen would identify the plane's pilot.

Holt's friend, Paul Hogue, told the Deseret News that Holt was a trained pilot who had flown commercially.

"The future can be taken from you so quickly and they had so much for their future," Hogue said. "They had future families and future wives and kids."

According to Federal Aviation Administration records, the Cessna 172 was built in 1999 and owned by Diamond Flying LLC of St. George.

Keliher said a cursory check of the plane's maintenance records turned up no major problems. She and representatives of Cessna and the company that built its engine inspected the aircraft after it was moved Sunday to a nearby hangar, she said.

Trio rescued more than 15 hours after Idaho plane crash

It will take months for her agency to examine the plane and pilot, and issue a final report, she said. The NTSB will issue a preliminary report on the crash in five days.

"I'm now trying to get ahold of family members (of the four), and will finish the inspection of the aircraft Monday," Keliher said Sunday evening. "I hope to wrap up the on-scene investigation and leave Tuesday."

'Wonderful son'
According to the National Weather Service, there were no severe weather conditions at the airport during the early on Saturday.

The airport, which has been in operation at its current site for about 1 1/2 years, does not have a control tower. Pilots use an automated system to communicate with one another when landing or taking off.

Hafen's family issued a statement describing him as a "wonderful son, brother and uncle" who loved to travel and who served a Mormon church mission to Oregon. He worked in the insurance business with his father.

"The community is grieving together," Mortensen told the AP. "St. George is a tight-knit community, and some of the families involved have been in the area over 100 years. If you live in this area, you know someone who knows one of these men."

Senator asks airlines to drop seat fee for kids

(AP) ? Sen. Charles Schumer is urging airlines to allow families with young children to sit together without paying extra.

The New York Democrat is reacting to an Associated Press story last week detailing how families this summer are going to find it harder to sit together without paying fees that can add up to hundreds of dollars over the original ticket price.

"Children need access to their parents and parents need access to their children," Schumer said in a statement. "Unnecessary airline fees shouldn't serve as a literal barrier between mother and child."

Since last year, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines have increased the percent of seats they set aside for elite frequent fliers or customers willing to pay extra. Fees for the seats ? on the aisle, next to windows, or with more legroom ?vary, but typically cost $25 extra, each way.

Airlines are searching for more ways to raise revenue to offset rising fuel prices. Airfare alone typically doesn't cover the cost of operating a flight. In the past five years, airlines have added fees for checked baggage, watching TV, skipping security lines and boarding early. Fees for better seats have existed for a few years but have proliferated in the last 12 months.

Schumer is asking Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to issue rules preventing airlines from charging parents more to sit next to kids. He is also asking the industry's trade group, Airlines for America, to persuade carriers to voluntarily waive the fee for families.

"A parent should not have to pay a premium to supervise and protect their child on an airplane," Schumer wrote in a letter expected to be sent Sunday to Nicholas E. Calio, the trade group's president.

The airlines say they try to keep parents and young children together. Gate agents will often ask passengers to voluntarily swap seats but airlines say they can't guarantee adjacent seats unless families book early or pay extra for the preferred seats.

Airlines have resisted past efforts by the government to further regulate them. Their argument: The cost associated with new rules would cripple an industry already struggling with thin profit margins.

Two years ago, Schumer got five big airlines to pledge that they wouldn't charge passengers to stow carry-on bags in overhead bins. The promise came after Spirit Airlines became the first U.S. carrier to levy such a fee.

99 Days to Purdue Football: Ryan Russell

Ryan Russell sporting a stylish blonde Mohawk during the 2011 Purdue football season.

Today is a very special day. Not only is 5/25/12 the 35th anniversary of the original release of Star Wars: A New Hope, but it also marks 99 days until the kickoff of the 2012 Purdue football season. All across Boiler Nation, football fans are currently rejoicing as the long-awaited road to another glorious football campaign is paved at Purdue.

To celebrate the return of the countdown to football action in West Lafayette, we continue the tradition of analyzing the Boilermaker gridiron warriors whose jersey numbers have fallen on the respective day in the countdown. And as I am not one to break such an epic tradition as the "X Days to Purdue Football" legend, we begin this year's colossal countdown with none other than a rising star for the Boilers, a ferocious monster anchoring the 2012 D-Line and quite possibly a future member of the Den of Defensive Ends: #99 Ryan Russell.

Ryan Russell - So. (RS)

Hometown: Carrollton, TX (Creekview HS)

Defensive End

6'5", 250 pounds

2012 projection: Starter at Left Defensive End

Although he will only be a sophomore this year, Russell enters the 2012 season as the Boilermakers' veteran Defensive End. Due to losing long-time starters Ryan Kerrigan and Gerald Gooden following each of the past two seasons, Ryan is the only returning Defensive End with significant starting time to his credit--which is rather impressive, when you think about it. During his 2011 freshman campaign, Russell was already penned in as a starting End and managed to record 33 total tackles, 1 sack and 3 fumble recoveries in his first full round of college football.

This season, opportunity knocks for #99 as he looks to further his skills and establish himself as a force along the D-Line and an emerging leader for Purdue's defense. Also, Russell looks to get comfortable in a much larger role amongst this fresh group of inexperienced Ends. In essence, the sky is the limit for Ryan in 2012. Expect him to have a breakout year while he continues to grow into his frame and expand upon his already excellent skills and understanding at his position.

Follow Ryan Russell on his Twitter at @RKRelentless.

Purpose of developing mobile applications and why they are in high ...

Cell phones are not just a means of communication anymore. All sorts of facilities can be availed from them and this includes a wide range of services including internet banking, listening to music, watching online movies, making online transactions etc. As the needs of the common man increase, smarter applications need to be developed to meet those needs. The need to display data on mobile devices continues to grow - especially with the seamless extension of enterprise data onto the small screen. As a result, solutions for shortening the data-to-mobile implementation cycle are on the rise, and so the need for mobile development framework. Developing mobile applications is not such an easy task though. The developer needs to have years of expertise and technical knowledge to develop the application that best meets the user?s needs.

The purpose of mobile application development is to utilize a standards-based architecture that leverages existing IT infrastructure and maximizes return on investment to your business. This helps to extend enterprise data to mobile users with high security in a user friendly manner. While developing mobile applications , the developer should take care so as to make the application platform independent. This means that the application can run on any platform irrespective of the software or programming language in which it was developed. There are mobile applications written in Java, which run on iPad, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices. Once the software is successfully developed, it should pass a testing phase where it is checked for proper functionality or any errors and after that, it is released on a large scale basis to the customers.

Brother of blind China activist flees village

BEIJING (Reuters) - The brother of blind activist Chen Guangcheng has fled his village in northeastern China, evading a security clampdown to seek help from lawyers for his son who has been detained in a case that has become a rallying point among rights activists.

Chen Guangfu, the eldest brother of Chen Guangcheng, told Reuters that he walked out of his home in Shandong province at 3 a.m. (1900 GMT) on Tuesday, eluding the increased number of sentries near his village by avoiding roads and running through fields. He arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening after a six-hour journey by car.

His activist brother escaped Dongshigu village in late April after 19 months of detention at home, following a similar route to the capital before taking refuge in the U.S. embassy, where he stayed for six days and sparked a diplomatic crisis between China and the United States.

That crisis, which overshadowed a visit by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was finally defused on Saturday when China allowed Chen to fly to the United States to study. But while Chen Guangcheng spent his first few days in New York after years of jail and detention, most of his family back home in Shandong has remained under a security clampdown.

The 55-year-old Chen Guangfu, in a rare interview since his brother escaped in April, recounted details of his own torture and reprisals by authorities since his brother's escape.

He said he was restricted from leaving the village and that police in Shandong warned him they would increase the sentence for his son, Chen Kegui, who is being held on an attempted murder charge, if he gave interviews.

"I feel since they are already doing this, why can't I say something?" Chen Guangfu said late on Wednesday in a teahouse in western Beijing. "I have the power to speak up."

"I told them their claims have no legal basis, but are based on power or by their will to determine Kegui's sentence. On this point, I'll never be able to accept it," he said, adding he planned to return to his village soon.

Local government and public security bureau officials were not immediately available for comment.

Chen Kegui, 32, was charged with "intentional homicide" for using knives to fend off local officials who burst into his home on April 27, the day after they discovered his blind uncle had escaped. He could face the death penalty. His lawyers, denied access to him on Friday, said he did not kill anyone.

Chen Guangfu's wife, Ren Zongju, also may be indicted for "harboring" her son, a charge punishable by up to 10 years jail, lawyers said. She was detained on April 29 and freed on bail. His daughter-in-law, Liu Fang, has been in Beijing for the past three weeks seeking lawyers for her husband.

Reprisals began soon after Chen's escape was discovered. Just after midnight on April 27, men in plainclothes scaled the walls of Chen Guangfu's home and kicked open its doors. They put a hood over him and took him to a police building. There, he said, they handcuffed him, bound his feet in iron chains, slapped him and stomped on his feet.

His captors lifted his handcuffed hands from the back so he couldn't sit straight and used his belt to whip his hands. The beatings lasted "a long time" and his left thumb lost feeling, he said.

"How did Guangcheng escape?" police asked him repeatedly.

The Foreign Ministry has said that Chen Guangcheng was a "free citizen" after his release from jail in 2010. But the walls and guards that penned him in his home and kept supporters and reporters out reflect the pervasive informal controls used to throttle dissent in China.

His elder brother's account illustrates the pressure authorities put on family members of dissidents and the hard line taken against Chen Guangcheng's family. Their treatment has encouraged lawyers and advocates to challenge what they see as the ruling Communist Party's stifling of lawful dissent.

A farmer and an odd-job laborer, Chen Guangfu said he told the police the full account of his brother's escape after they mentioned the names of activists and villagers involved. He also told police he had an obligation to help his younger brother, and stressed that he had already completed his sentence and become a "free citizen".

"I don't think he's a criminal. I don't think I'm in the wrong for helping a free citizen," he told police.

"UNFAIR, ILLEGAL"

After police took Chen Guangfu into custody, a second group of men went to his home and beat his wife and son, Chen Guangfu said. His wife later told him uniformed police charged in with shields and rubber truncheons and resumed beating her and Chen Kegui, who was by then bleeding and crying out for help. It was around this time Chen Kegui took a kitchen knife and slashed three officials.

Chen Kegui is being held in a detention centre in Yinan and authorities have barred family and the lawyers they chose from visiting or representing him, his father said.

Police told Chen Kegui's lawyers that he had been appointed two lawyers from the state-run Yinan legal aid centre. Officials at the centre said they have no knowledge of the case.

"I think this is unfair and illegal," said Chen Guangfu, a dark and lanky former high school teacher. "Based on my understanding of Chen Kegui, he will never refuse the intervention of outside counsel. From Guangcheng's case, he understands thoroughly that these so-called 'legal aid lawyers' are useless."

Chen Guangfu said he was "extremely pessimistic" about his son's prospects.

Chen Kegui's wife Liu, also present, told Reuters that she hoped her husband's case would be treated like "a normal, criminal case". Her 5-year-old son, Chen Fubin, is back in Shandong.

"He (Chen Kegui) must be heavily injured, I'm worried about his physical state," she said, her voice breaking. "Inside, he might be subject to beatings."

The two lawyers she chose to represent Chen Kegui challenged the Yinan County Public Security Bureau for "illegal" efforts to deny them access to their client, in a letter to the Yinan police chief published on a microblog on Monday.

Before he left for the United States on Saturday, Chen Guangcheng predicted the authorities' drive to manipulate his nephew's case would fail and increase public discontent over an episode that has renewed international focus on China's human rights and legal system.

Chen Guangfu also provided new detail on his brother's escape. The blind Chen Guangcheng left on the morning of April 20, scaled eight walls, some as high as four meters, and slept in a pig sty, he said.

"I tried too to follow his escape route, there were two walls I didn't dare to scale," Chen Guangfu said.

The elder Chen said he helped by contacting activists He Peirong and Guo Yushan after learning his brother had left his village. The two activists drove down from Beijing and arrived at Tai'an city in Shandong to pick Chen Guangcheng up.

Asked for his thoughts about his brother in the United States, Chen Guangfu said: "I think if he has a chance, he should take us there to have a look.

"So many people have said bad things about the United States. Someone even said he was like a dog that was kicked out of the U.S. embassy," he said. "But ultimately, he ended up in America. So I think the criticisms aren't justified."
